Backtracking

The pump-out contractor didn’t arrive yesterday evening so I again phoned CRT at 9am this morning.  Then I became very self-conscious about being moored on the services.  Of course all the marina boaters have their own water taps and if the pump was unserviceable no one could use it.  But I felt guilty so we moved out of the basin and onto the visitor mooring.  By now you will realise that no sooner had we moored than the contractor arrived.  I explained the problem and sequence of events.  The pump was working so it had to be a problem with the pipe.  After about 20 minutes he managed to clear it and we then re-entered the marina to complete the pump-out.  We’re now a day behind schedule but fortunately an elderly grey haired fat obese chubby stout OAP did some lock walking for us today.  He worked Waiouru down through 11 locks over a couple of miles.

P1020867 We stopped at the Lock Keeper for lunch.  They had a carvery which both Jan and I selected and it proved to be a good choice.

Just before Worksop we met the Dawn Rose being towed back to her mooring after It completed the Chesterfield Canal Trust sponsored hand tow to Stockwith.

Later we passed a moored Jennifer Eccles which you may recall had accompanied us down the Tinsley Flight out of Sheffield.  We’re now moored halfway between Worksop and Retford
